Grade Optic: Legal & Privacy
Terms of service
Effective 7 August 2026. Please read these terms before using Go Precheck.
Visual precheck only. Not a final grade.
Go Precheck does not authenticate cards.
Go Precheck is independent and not affiliated with PSA, BGS, CGC, or SGC.
1. What Go Precheck is
Grade Optic builds and operates Go Precheck. Go Precheck is an independent product that photographs a trading card and shows you what a grader is likely to scrutinise. It produces a visual precheck: an opinion about what is visible in your photos. It is not a grade, not an appraisal, and not authentication, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC, or any grading company or marketplace.
By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Who may use it
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 13 years old. If you use the service on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it. You are responsible for anything done through your account or device.
3. No guarantee of grade, value, or authenticity
- A precheck is an opinion from photographs. A grading company may reach a different conclusion.
- Market context is informational only. It is not an offer, an appraisal, or a guaranteed value.
- Go Precheck does not authenticate cards, autographs, or serial numbers, and does not detect counterfeits.
- Nothing in the service is investment, financial, tax, or legal advice.
- AI and market data can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. You must verify a card's identity and condition yourself before selling it or submitting it for grading.
4. Your responsibilities and acceptable use
- Listing, selling, and grading-submission decisions are yours alone.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of any listing or description you create.
- Do not use the service to misrepresent a card's grade, condition, authenticity, or value.
- Upload only photos you have the right to upload.
- Do not attempt to break, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service, or use it to break the law or a marketplace's rules.
5. Your content and photo rights
You keep all rights to the photos you upload. You grant Grade Optic only the limited, non-exclusive licence needed to run the service for you: to store, process, and display your photos so we can identify a card, produce a precheck, generate display covers, and let you export.
That processing includes sending your card photos to a third-party AI analysis provider acting on Grade Optic's behalf, for the sole purpose of producing a precheck. Your photos are not sent to pricing or market-data providers, are not sold, and are not used to advertise to you. The Data handling page lists every category we hold and whether it leaves our systems.
We do not claim ownership of your cards or your photos. Current browser-held session state persists in that browser until you clear it in the app or through browser storage controls. We do not assert an external provider retention period here; any such period must be verified and disclosed before it is relied on.
6. Your data and privacy
The Privacy page explains what we collect and why. Original uploaded photos are the only evidence source used for identity and precheck; generated or display images are cosmetic and are never used as evidence.
7. Deletion and export
You can export your card list and your original photos, and you can request deletion of your photos and data. Deleting a card removes it from your collection; archiving is storage optimisation, not deletion. See the Privacy page for how these controls work today.
8. Market data
Market data may be incomplete or out of date. Active listings are asking prices, not sold prices, and are always shown separately from completed sales. Raw and graded comparables are shown separately. Market context never changes a condition or precheck result. See the Market data page.
9. Availability and changes to the service
The service is under active development and is offered on an as-available basis. Features may change, pause, or be withdrawn, and a provider we depend on may become unavailable. We try to avoid surprises, but we cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
10. Fees
Any paid plan, its price, and what it includes will be shown to you before you are charged. If paid features are introduced, these terms continue to apply alongside the terms presented at purchase.
11. Ending your use
You may stop using the service at any time and request deletion of your data. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, if required by law, or if continuing would put the service or other users at risk.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that a precheck will match any grading company's outcome.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Grade Optic is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost sales, lost value, or lost data, arising from your use of the service. This includes decisions you make to sell, buy, list, or submit a card for grading.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects consumer rights you cannot waive.
14. Indemnity
You agree to cover reasonable claims, losses, and costs that arise from your misuse of the service, from content you upload without the right to do so, or from your breach of these terms.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The effective date at the top will change, and material changes will be highlighted in the app. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept it.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Grade Optic is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and nothing in them removes the protection of mandatory consumer laws in your country of residence. We would much rather resolve a problem directly, so please contact us first.
